Is there a website where you can e-mail a dr or specialist and get a response back? I thought I remembered reading about it once before

I won't get an appointment at my surgery for over a week and my inquiry isn't serious enough for A&E, and it's more complex than anything on the NHS direct site!

yes here :-) Surely even if they tell you what it is you still need to see a doc for them to prescribe you

Do you have a emergency docs service at the hospital? the out of hours one? after your gp has closed.

Alternatively E-MED. �20 to join and �15 per consultation.

Why don't you just ring NHS direct and speak to one of their advisers. They will take some details and get a healthcare professional to call you back within the hour.

No I don't need a prescription, it's an inquiry rather than something I need precription medicine for

Thanks all, i think ringing NHS direct is my best option, just was wondering if I could do it from the office by email without everyone listening!

I think ages ago I posted a question on

www.netdoctor.co.uk

They don't give direct answers, but you put your symptoms in and it directs you to a number of previously posted questions with answers, but it's not immediate and you may have to subscribe.
