I havent but i once went out with a girl who was terrified of fancy dress costumes and masks- even santa in the precinct ? ! ? !
And another who wouldnt look at a face through a window, not even mine or her mums or dads !? !?
I guess i just pick mad ones though !
i have a real fear of the sea. i have panick attacks when flying over the sea or even walking by it. i go really dizzy, feel sick and start getting all sweaty. it seems to be getting worse as i am getting older.
I have answered this one before, but I am happy to do so again. Dummies - the ventriloquist kind, not babies' soothers! Watch the portmanteau horror film 'Dead Of Night' - you'll see why. I saw it when I was about nine.
Clowns. They really give me the heebie jeebies ! Who knows what is really lurking behind that painted smile or even in their extraordinarily large shoes. Maybe they don't even have normal feet lol ! They are just so creepy and so unfunny. Have you ever seen the spielberg film 'It' about the clown ? I rest my case.
Ps Do you wanna balloon ? We all float down here. Gave me nightmares for weeks ! Moral of the story , never mind not talking to strangers , don't accept balloons from painted men with big feet !!!
I meant of course to say Stephen King in my reference to the film 'It'. Hubby interrupted me with a question about Spielberg and I typed that in error. Oops !
Not so weird, I suppose, but... I'm afraid of criticism. It makes me feel terrible. I get really defensive. I'm a perfectionist, and that sort of goes along with the territory.
THere is a theory that our weird fears and phobias are due to our past lives! My sister has a real fear of stairs! When she was little she took about an hour to walk down a flight of stairs. I have a phobia of driving! Maybe that was how we died in our previous lives?! Otherwise how can we explain it?
I'm absolutely petrified of pigeons. I can't walk anywhere near them, and if one or more fly over my head or in close proximity to me, I actually scream. A real, belting, very loud scream. I can't help it, it's awful.
I'm not vaguely scared of normal things, like spiders or snakes or even sharks. Once on a boating trip in the Atlantic, a shark was spotted snooping around near the boat, so I dove right in! I can't explain that either..
call me weird, i have a phobia of germs. Its weird cos i have to wash my hands or someing certain ammont of times, and i dont being near poo or that,i know thats kinda weird, lol
I hate snakes. Even seeing them on tv or magazines turns me to jelly. I know they are not slimy, its more the shape of their heads that gets me and their cold cold eyes. UGH, UGH and UGH again.
I've always really disliked sky-scraper type buildings, but have never needed to go inside one. Just looking at one sometimes makes me panicky & want to cry. My mum died a few hrs before the 9/11 horror & I've wondered whether it was a phobia or a warning.
Speaking of my pigeon phobia, I was driving to work this morning and had to stop the car and do some heavy breathing as I nearly ran over one. You might think that would make me feel better, but no. Rats with wings.
georgit79 you sound just like my friend - she has had a phobia of pigeons for years, and has always referred to them as rats with wings! I've never been able to think of them as anything else!
HOSPITALS, Gollyw0gs, Masks and fancy dress constumes. Especially those people in masks at Carnivals that walk on stilts. It's just something about motionless faces. Oh, and I really hate pictures or dolls that have human bodies and animal faces, i.e. Rupert Bear!
