The only thing that will make you taller is your posture! Walk with your shoulders back and your head slightly elevated so that your chin is pointing dead ahead and not down. Pull your stomach in too as this helps tone and strengthen the abdominal muslces.
You will now have added a good inch to your height just by having good posture.
Hope this helps. xxx
both will do. it is very important to ensure you hae the right balance of food groups and avoid fad diets at all cost. A little of everything coupled with exercise is a good way to live.
If you are exercising it is important to remember that it takes about 20mins for your muscles to warm up. Any exercise you do after this will then burn off calories. As an example, if you do a 40 minute workout you will burn off 20mins of calories so the longer you exercise ... and they don't recommend more than an hour on one particular set of muscles unless an athlete ... the more calories you burn off.

Hi pompey....well you'll be pleased to know that boys can continue to grow until they are about 18-19 years old!!
A good diet and excersize are important for your health but your height is usually inherited. Most boys grow as tall as their fathers, or in come cases they get taller especially if their mothers are tall too!! You will probably gain an extra inch or two over the next couple of years, besides if you're 5' 8'' now there' s only a little way to go!!
NO you can't increase your height by stretching or exercise
YES you can increase your height by waiting.
The average height of a 16-year-old boy is 98.3% of eventual adult height, so you have probably got another inch or two to grow.
And remember - that's only the average< /EM>.
An unusual example is the actor
Leonardo DiCaprio
who was 5'5" when he was 18
and 6'0" when he was 20.
Both my brothers were a good four or five inches shorter than me at 14/15 (I'm 5ft 11), and now at 20 and 21 they are both over 6ft 2. They just shot up when they were around 17/18. So I'm guessing you've got a few inches left in you.
And no, you can't stretch taller. That's just silly!
One piece of advice: if you smoke, quit!
My son has only just finish growing at 21. He was about your height at 16 and is now 6' plus. Like Leonardo he was a little tiddler at 14.
Sorry about all the other postings. I did nothing except sit there and watch it happen! I notice the same thing happened to another user in the Parenting section.
