my mate really wants her belly pierced but her mum wont let her shes either gonna go get it done without parental permission or do it herself. has ne1 pierecd their own belly button b4?? dus it hurt n is it safe??

it will hurt and probably go septic, you need to use sterile professional hollow needles that you pull the ring through, the other problem with belly self piercing is that you are looking at it from the wrong angle, so it will end up misplaced, it is better if someone else does it.

Please be aware that IF someone professionally pierces your mates belly button and she is under 18 yrs of age, her parents can have them on charges of Assault on a Minor!!!

 

It is against the law for ANYONE to do body piercings on a minor which is under 18yrs of age.  Parental consent MUST be given in writing and in person!!!

 

So she can't pretend to write a letter from her mum giving permission.  Also bear in mind that IF she is daft enought to get another adult to pretend to be one of her parents, they too will be charged on aiding and abetting assault.

 

If I was your friend I would just wait till she is an adult then celebrate her 18th burthday by paying for it herself.  She will appreciate it a lot more.

I would guess that you and your friend are about 14 or slightly older? 

Why doesn't your friend use those 'clip-on' piercings for now and wait till she can get it done without permission. It would save alot of arguemnets with her mum and both of them have what they want!! Just a thought.

MrsCheeks im quite sure in the UK its 16 for piercings(assuming the poster is from there), secondly most of the places have a document stripping them of liability that the person has to sign.  Doing it herself is a very bad idea.
