teeth...are uneven..can i have them filed down...?

my teeth are a little bit 'uneven' accross the top...because of chips, and wearing etc...can i get them filed down to make them even - or would this weaken them?

i would think so - depends how bad. I had little chip on the corner of one of my teeth and dentist smoothed it down and it helped the appearance as well as how it felt.

yes. The more filing required, the more it will weaken the tooth or remove good enamel, though.

Each case is different, depending on the existing state of health your teeth and gums. I really would suggest you consult your dentist over this. If it's not medically essential, of course, then you'd have to have it done as a private patient.

my dentist once filed down a slightly chipped tooth without even bothering to ask me (which annoyed me). So yes, it can be done.

hi mwb - things are better...his moods have calmed down now..i guess the medication must have left his system entirely by now...so we'll see

i did dump him... which at first he seemed ok with, even happy, but then he kind of started texting, phoning etc...and eventually wegot back togther... so its early days... hes made loads apologies and promises not to be weird etc ...and he is better ...but we'll see how it goes... if things keep getting better then all will be fine but if not, i think hes history...
