Once it's popped there is a risk of getting infection in. All I can think is to stick to an antiseptic cream. You can get blister plasters which are quite good. They stay over it until the new skin is there.
try putting some germoline antiseptic cream on it( it's white) - it prevents infection getting in and will help to clear the scalding. - it should'nt scar.
I wouldn't bother with any creams or lotions, not on what is essentially now an open burn. Just make sure it's clean (with cold water) and put a dry dressing on it - a sticking plaster will be fine as long as you're not allergic.
Scarring on fingers from cooker burns is thankfully usually minimal unless it's a particularly big/deep burn or if it gets infected. If it's very painful, take a couple of painkillers, and if you're at all worried about it, speak to your pharmacist or contact NHS direct.
don't know if you can get it in this country but a product called Cicatrin (sp?) is absolutely amazing - we used to get it in SA - had a vistor out to stay who had seriously burned her hand on an iron -really, really badly burned -within a day or two of staying with us the wound had healed brilliantly. Maybe worth while googling in Cicatrin.
Sweetie. I hope you don't manage to burn yourself again, but if you do, hold the affected part under cold running water, for quite a few minutes, it will feel very cold and uncomfortable, but try to stick with it for at least a few minutes. You will find that it will not blister, and will prevent damage to the underlying flesh. Tried and tested, and works, as I often manage to burn myself usually on the iron or oven.
