We are all interested in archiology and decided to visit some local sites. One of the sites we visited was a fogou (these are underground buildings with tunnels and chambers, which are thought to date from iron age times, the purpose of these buildings is not understood). So there we were having a good old look around this fogou, I took quite a few photographs, one of which was towards the opening of the fogou from inside. When I took the picture my brother in law, and my husband had gone outside, leaving just me and my sister in the fogou. Nobody else was in there. When I had the film developed a while later that photo showed a blurred, but "solid" image of someone wearing a rather odd looking hat, standing in the fogou just infront of the opening.
I still have the photograph, and have never worked out a rational explaination for how this person ended up in the photo when nobody was there when I took it.
Not paranormal but a bit spooky !. My grandad was from sierra leone in west-africa, at the age of 18 he was a slave on a ship which docked in at liverpool.
My grandad and his friend escaped into liverpool and started new lives but unfortunately seperated from each other, later in life he tried to search for his friend but as they had assumed false names- after 60 odd years of searching without any look he passed away in 1991.
At the funeral we were talking to the vicar who (wait for it)... turned out to be my grandads friend from all those years ago !!!.
Although they never re-united we managed to catch up on lots of family history and chat with one another's families.
No ghost or spirit fromthe dead has ever been genuinely observed and recorded.
They were invented by superstitious, ignorant folk long ago in history because they had no scientific explanation at the time.
But they make good book and film subjects.
