Piriton
24 Answers
ive been advised by the doc's to take Piriton regularly for a while due to possible reaction to anti inflammatroies...
anyways - i took 3 pirion every 4hrs yesterday, doc said they would make me feel drowsy but woah...i was bordering on stoned at one point - not in a good way, a bad way. I felt like i was drifting away all the time i found it hard to relax and i kept feeling really clammy all the time.
Is this normal with piriton? especially if im told to take it regularly? Ive never had it before. Ive taken my first one again today, and already i can feel my hands turn really clammy, i feel a little drowsy but its no big deal at the moment, of course im expecting 2 more tablets later for that to get worse!
personally - i think im just uber sensitive to any kind of medication im just curious of other peoples response to piriton

I hope you are not saying you took 3 tablets together every 4 hours! That would be way over the dosage you should take.
The usual dose for an adult is one tablet every four hours.

If you are in any doubt about theses side effects don't take any more tablets until you have spoken to your doctor about it.

Morning Danny
You're obviously having some sort of reaction to the Piriton, so i would either go back to your doctor/call him/her for advice so you can be prescibed something else that wont , hopefully affect you the way the Piriton seems to be.
Your chemist may know of something else you can try, but may be best to check with your GP first.
We're abroad at the moment and some of our families/groups are using it against insect bites/stings, and no real ill feeling, so could be you are allergic to something in the pill.
Having said that, some medication do have a slight reaction in some people, as they advise of this on the instructions.
I'm sure you will get some good advice on here from great posters such as Sqad etc later, if hopefully they see it, so good luck and all the best to you.
cheers

Bottom line is if you DID word you're question wrong, and it is 1 tablet every 4 hours you're taking, then you will still need to go back to the doctor, as obviously you need advice on these symptoms you're having.
If this is the case, i apologise to you for doubting your word and what i mentioned to sqad.
if you are taking 3 piriton every 4 hours......don't have a clue how your GP/chemist would allow this.....so.......go to your nearest GP/Hospital now!!!
