I think I've just about had enough of this poxy hayfever....
30 Answers
I have had it for 3 months now. Tablets, eye drops, contact lenses, nose spray.
Am I right in thinking I should just cave in and speak to the doc about it? (never needed to before you see)
Any help/suggestions appreciated before I waste GP time.

Lil used to dose up her youngest on that to make him sleep. She said he was hyperactive - no he wasn't, he was just a normal healthy little boy. It was her first son who was a bit dozey & that made her think her youngest was to wild. Poor kid must have been force fed gallons of it when he was little.

Definitely see your doctor. Mine prescribed a nasal spray in March for another condition, but when she discovered I get hayfever she prescribed more and told me to keep on with it. I have and I've been pretty good this year up to now. She did also say that any hayfever remedy works best when it's taken in the weeks before the main season - something to remember for next year.
Saying that, my eyes have been itching and swelling like crazy over the weekend and talking to people at work this morning it seems I wasn't alone. I found it helpful to rest with a cold, wet flannel over my eyes.

HI
After trying literally every tablet in the book, every nose spray, homeopathic remedy, injection and everything else I finally went to my dr in some distress as I had been suffering for over 20 years and nothing worked.
He refererred me to the immunology clinic at the hospital who have started me on a 3 year treatment of desensitising tablets, one a day. After three years, if everything goes to plan, I should be hay fever free.
Only been on them since November so the results remain to be seen but at least it is something different than the usual tablet, nasal sprays etc!

Thanks again you lot!! So many people suffering and it seems to be worse this year! Doc has told me I can double my dose of "over the counter" stuff and if that doesn't help he's going to whack me on steroids for a week to calm my immune system down! Not what I was expecting him to say but there you go! I'll see what happens!
Saxy the cold flannel thing as suggested earlier does wonders, but can't go to work or drive like that! LOL
Thanks chazza, I'll keep that in mind xx
