laparotomy

I realise that a Laparotomy is an exploratory operation sometimes leading to something else,but it is still a major intrusion,having your stomach opened from 4" below the belly button to just below your nipple.
I had this operation about a month ago,and thankfully,nothing was found to be of any concern.
I just need to know...how long does it take to recover without fear of any repercussions.
