Umm..wax.

Seriously, it all depends on what you're after. Remember that whoever is administering the wax has seen it all before and probably done it already about 10 times that day, so no need to be coy. It's very unladylike and involves spreading of the legs, but in my opnion actually doesn't hurt much at all. And yes, you can keep your knickers on (unless you want the whole lot off, of course!)

The therapist will paste wax onto the "area" and then whip it off in sections with thin cotton strips. It's sooo much better than shaving and delapi..whatever that word is, so go for it!

what are the 'P's for? I didn't put them there...

Did you paste in from Word? That puts
s in.

Bikini waxing....

Quick, but fairly painful. You need to be able to help out with keeping the skin taut as this lessens the pain. It hurts worse than leg waxing as you have a lot more nerve endings round there and the skin is softer as it's less exposed.

You need to take care of the skin afterwards, as you're particularly at risk from ingrown hairs etc. Esp if you haven't been waxed before and the hairs are quite long, they may break off just under the skin rather than come out cleanly.

They say it lasts for about 6 weeks, but you may need to go again in 3 weeks to catch the hairs that were still under the skin when you last visited.

Make sure you go to a reputable salon. As georgeit said, they have seen it all before, so don't be embarrassed, but DO tell the salon if you have never been waxed before or your are particularly nervous. They usually talk to you about your holidays to distract you anyway!

They may offer you hair minimising lotion to use between visits. It's quite expensive, but it does work. You MUST do a patch test though, as it can sting and might irritate your skin.

I think it hurts a lot less than leg waxing. Maybe I'm just tough as nails...!

Thank you very much! Think I will try pluck up the courage and have it done now I know what they do!

Go for it HIT i have been a beauty therapist and believe me it's not as bad as alot of people make out half the time. Just make sure it is not the time of the month as you are more sensitive at this time and take a couple of paracetomols a couple of hoiurs before you go this also helps with the pain.

Wear the pants that you are happy with the edge of your bikini line to be too this gives the therapist a ggod guide and makes it easier for you as well. They should always cleanse the area first, do a test patch to make sure the temp. and wax is all ok for you. She will then do small areas until it is done don't be afraid to ask her to stop if it hurts too much i have had this a couple of times, some clients just can't hack it and some don't feel it. The first time is always the worst but the more you have it done the wider your hair follicles become(making this less painful)and the more used to it you become too. Male sure you use a cream on the area to prevent ingrown hairs one with tea tree in is best or they may sell a good one at the salon. Don't be shy about it, us therapists see womens bodies as a normal thing id on't even give them second glances anymore they kind of all look alike after so long anyway so dont let that bother you besides they generally let you get ready by yourself so you should be fine and don't be afraind to ask about anything what so ever
