illergic to it?

Please dont ban my Q, i realy need advice. is it possible to be illegic to protection? (durex 4 example) that makes a woman slightly irritated in that area for a few short days after sex? it was my 1st time so could it be that? it did hurt alot and we had to stop but i dont see how that it linked to the itchyness/irritated area!?

You could be allergic to latex, you can get latex free condoms instead.

As Cudgie says, possible BUT rare. Try latex free instead (all manufatcureres make them)

I am allergic to latex too.  Non latex condoms are quite a bit more expensive but well worth the money.

thanx cudgie&simonC. So it isnt a common factor for women to be allergic then, its rare, as you stated? and greedyfly was your reation the same as my own before you switched to non-latex?

Many people have a reaction to latex or other products added to condoms, including me, but after only one time it is difficult to say if you reacted to this or if you are just very sensitive because it was your first time.  If when you next have sex and you are relaxed and ready for it, and the irritaion still happens then you may have an allergy. There are non latex condoms available like Durex Avanti.  Just don't stop using contraception!

i understand that spermicide can also bring about an allergic reaction in some people - so if the non-latex condoms still affect you try then getting the ones that are not treated with spermicide. Be safe and have fun i'm sure you'll find a product that works for you... kind regards undercovers

Another angle could be that you were not sufficiently lubricated down there which caused excessive friction. Try some KY Jelly next time. It really works.

Oil based lubricants shouldn't be used with latex condoms.  KY is ok as it's water based.

It is rare, but try the latex free condoms still.
