Cellulitis
9 Answers
I scraped the side of my toe in the pool on holiday and it turned infected. When I got back I went to GP and she told me that it was mild Cellulitis .
I have just completed an intensive 1wk course of Flucloxacillin 4 x 500mg per day and its still very sore.
The original scab (sorry to the sqeamish) came off last night but its still bleeding and raw.
How long do you think I should give the antibiotics time to kick in or should they have done so already?
I cant wear anything but flip flops and cant cover it up-couldnt have been in a worse place !!

They stuck me on the high dose of Amoxiclav but it flared up again and they said they couldn't put me on anything stronger so suggested I keep my foot raised about my heart for 48 hours which i did and it all calmed down again.
I've still got some swelling and I don't think I'm going to get rid of the marks for a while though but seems like I've shifted the infection :)
