im having my appendix out in the next few months dont know if its going to be keyhole or just a long cut .im worried about the scar i will end up with .anyone had key hole and was u left with a bad scar thanks .

You won't notice a keyhole scar after a week or two, so you can still wear a bikini.

If you're having it out by arrangement I wouldn't worry too much even if it isn't keyhole.

The problem with appendix removal is it tends to be emergency when they are not so worried about how your scar will look as your life is more important.

yes very true ummmm .i am hoping it is going to be key hole but maybe it wont i should have asked the doc .i dont mind having the op as i never ever want to be that ill again with appendix problems .

You will almost certainly have a bikini-line scar in a skin crease which will be almost imperceptable.

BUT:

If the appendix is in an abnormal position:
If there are complications:

Then the scar may well be enlarged.

Unusual, but it happens.

the doctors when they did mine not an emergency had an idea the bikini line was a good two inches higher than the actual bikini line, insist on keyhole its your body i wish i knew you could have keyhole i was never given the choice
