How often would you get through the menopause ....

Around 30% of menopausal women get no problem/symptoms whatsoever except fot the cessation of periods.

If you mean like hot flushes and things, I was really lucky-didn't get anything like that. Periods just stopped, came on one month and never again. So lucky when i hear what some poor ladies go through.

Thanks both for your answers . My periods have been stopping and starting for the past while which could be stress but no other symptoms yet. I will be 51 in December

my mum was as lucky as you horselady, however I'm getting nasties and flushes :( GP tells me I'm too young which is kind of flattering but not medical terminology so blood tests and am waiting on results

I am 41 and have been having menopause symptoms for a couple of years now. The hot flushes are awful and I also get insomnia to the extent that sometimes I don't sleep at all for 48 hours. I have very sore breasts and have gained a stone in weight..........the weight is no big deal as I was only 7st7lb before.
My periods are very irregular but haven't stopped for more than 3 months before returning.

Had hysterectomy 13 years ago - still having hot flushes but I seem to tolerate them better now. Some women suffer terribly and some don't - I think its just luck of the draw.

Not really Peri - it may be stress related going on what you said on Sunday and if you have'nt had any flushes then you may have escaped them. Buy a fan though, just in case .........{oD

Periods on and off, sometimes heavy, sometimes barely there. Just a couple of hot flushes in as many years. Other than that, no problems whatsoever. I may have mood swings, but by bloke says he wouldn't notice as I've had them for years anyway. ;-)
