when i'm at the gym i tend to use the treadmill, bike, crosstrainer and the rower, which one of these machines would be best for my middle area, which is where most of my weight seems to be.

You cannot spot reduce fat from certain areas of the body. You need to lower your total body fat by expending more calories than you are consuming. Aerobic exercise and a calorie controlled diet are the way to do this.
I tend to agree with Daffy. I'm going to start going to an abs class to work that area out in particular but I'll continue to eat healthly and do other classes so that I can lose weight or tone up all over as well. Maybe you could try an abs class too?
abs class? Bet they dont hold them round where I live
Most gyms have a similar type class. Or if not that then a legs, bum and tum type one.
We dont have classes at our gyms
Really? How weird. I've never been to a gym that didn't have classes!
our leisure centre has classes. but our gyms are usually little private ones
That's what we get for living where we do 4get!! However, think of all that glorious countryside we have to get fit in!!
Wow! I've been a member of three private gyms in Luton, Godalming and Guildford and they had classes... That's a harsh set of gyms you have there, I'd use the leisure centre!
my gym doesn't have classes but that's 'cos it's primarily a body builders gym.....the local David Lloyd centre has classes.....you can see all the jessies poncing about in lycra.......
Who's David Lloyd? (And can I come visit you so I can 'pop in' to the body builders gym).
lutons a bit bigger than my town china :-)
Oh and leisure centre have an aerobics class once a week, badminton and squash. Thats about it
Aye, that's true and so's Guildford. Godalming's pretty teeny though. I'm just in shock.... I only go to the gym for the classes! (Well, and the pool).
no probs China.......I did body building for about 12 years......the trouble starts when you stop......but the men do look cute in their posing pouches......
China, if you knew where 4get and I lived you would know exactly why we have no gyms as such!! Luton, Godalming and Guildford are all huge compared to what we have here!! We are a deprived rural area. Our towns would equate to your small villages!! ;o)
A pool, what's a pool?! ;o). Something the school has and you can only use it on rare occasions!!! Very few towns have swimming pools in this neck of the woods!!!
Ha, ha. Looked up Godalming - population 21,000. It's simply huge. Actually I come from that neck of the woods originally - well not too far away.
4get's town has a huge population of about 7,000.
Schools have swimming pools where you are?! How cool!

Craft - Got any tummy exercise recommendations for that bit just above your pubic line that (in my case) goes a bit over your knicks? I'm trying to get rid of it... hence the abs class. Top part of tummy seems ok.
Only the high schools China. There are no public pools for the kids to go to. We can swim in the school pools on occasions. I would just love to have a swimming pool I could visit regularly. Being my great age we can swim for free, I would if I had a pool to swim in!!
