I shower twice a day, once before work, once after. I am told that shampooing your hair so often is actually worse for your hair. Is this true?! I don't wanna go bald quite so early... :)

China is correct - frequent washing does strip away the sebavious oils that your scalp produces, and can make them go into overdrive, which will make your hair really greasy.

I would suggest washing your hair with shampoo every four days, using a nice mild shampoo - Pears or Johnsons Baby Shampoo are good. You can of course wet and towel your hair every time...

Don't know if it would make your hair fall out but you certainly shouldn't wash your hair every day let alone twice a day everyday! Apparently it strips the natural oils your hair produces.

Excess washing will not cause baldness - that is genetically programmed, and will occu,r or no,t depending on the trends in the family. If your dad and grandad on his side went bald, chances are you will too. When and if it happens, go gracefully, get it cropped and forget about it - no-one cares, neither should you.
I heard an 'expert' on the radio say that washing your hair every day is the same as washing your body every day (and hopefully we all do that!)...just use a gentle shampoo.
I don't Robinia... I shower everyday but I won't use soap all over my body every day, my skin wouldn't like it.... I'm going to get a bit of a mucky reputation at this rate for all the wrong reasons! :c)
lol China, mucky madam! ;o)
I don't wash my hair everyday in the shower but that's because it takes a long time to dry & it has hi & low lights & I need to make them last...I look a real doll in my spotty shower hat :o)
Otherwise Josh, you'll end up looking like this!!...................lol

My hair and skin would dry up and shrivel if I used soap on them every day... especially my hair, it's a bit of a law unto itself... But I swim or go to the gym a lot so I always have to shower anyway otherwise I'd be stinky. I'm told I smell nice though so I'm not too paranoid...yet! :c)
Isn't baldness hereditary from your mothers side of the family
again........as that page taken off by sci- fi channel

i wash mine everday. I know I shouldnt but not because I have done that if I leave it more than 2 days without washing it it is so greasy. Plus I cant stand having a bath or showering and not washing all of me. Makes my head feel itchy after.
One good thing about getting older is that hair gets less greasy. I simply couldn't bear to leave my hair lank and washed it every day when I was younger - although hair colour dried it out a bit. Nowadays I can leave my hair for about three days happily, just getting it wet in the shower so I can can blow it dry and try and get rid of the waves!! I only use a very mild body wash and haven't used soap for years and years, even on my hands.

I have to shower and wash my hair before I leave the house or I just don't feel right otherwise.

Because I do it my hair can't not be washed every day and goes all oily. I don't feel clean if I don't though.

I don't use soap in the shower, usually use and antibacterial wash like Sanex or Carex.
I have washed my hair every day for about 8 years and it is in absolutely fine condition! If you're worried you could always use shampoo one day but just wet your hair the next, without shampoo?
