muscle building
2 Answers
i had a free session with a personal trainer at a gym i have just joined. my muscles were killing afterwards, particularly my upper arms which we worked on. i went back to the gym myself yesterday, two days after session, and could hardly work out the top of my arms as they were still killing me. is it normal to still carry on building up muscles when they hurt. i know you should do it on alternative days which i intend to do. should i feel pain while working out from previous days even ie my stomach and tops of legs too?

When you first train an area that hasn't been trained for a long time or ever it can take a week to recover. Next time it will recover quicker, soon you will be able to train every 2 days. Body builders have split routines for this reason so you can train every day if you like but you should do unrelated muscles. so for example chest/triceps on day one and back/biceps day 2, shoulders/traps day 3, legs day 4, then start again.
