Hi, I have done a search and read past experiences on this anti depressant and am reassured that side effects do wear off. I was wondering though if anyone is riding this rollercoaster at the moment? If you would care to share experiences (feel I want to say favourable, but thats just my anxiety coming through)

Thanks for that am determined to give it a chance.

I was on them for 3 years, and they were really horrible at first - especially that yawning shaking thing that happens all the time. But either the side effects wore off or I stopped noticing them after a pretty short space of time. I had tried a couple of other types before going onto them and I have to say - horrible though the side effects were, they weren't as bad as the other ones. I also started to feel the benefit pretty quickly. I was only on them for so long because I had avoided getting treatment for almost 2 years and had ended up in a pretty bad way. Stick with them but if things don't get better speak to your doc - it sometimes takes a while to find one that suits you. Good luck.
I have been on mirtazapine for quite some time but have recently halved my dosage.....go mamya....

Tkanks craft I presume thats similar? well the cold body flushes I had tonight were horrid! But will ride the storm unless it gets worse.

ive been on them about 3 months, it says they take 2 to 4 weeks to take effect, and with me it took the full month before they started to make me feel better, I thought they were never going to work. Im on the lowest 10mg, and the only side effect ive had is a very dry mouth and metalic taste, It says it causes sleep disturbence, but that was a problem I have anyway. Other than that I havent had any other side effects. They have taken the edge off my anxiety, my probems are still ongoing, but im coping better, and I do feel better for taking them.

Very glad to hear that Burbie take good care.

M
Have taken them for years and probably for life. I can't remember ever having side effects, but I certainly don't get them now. However just recently I forget to pick my prescription up so was without them for three days and I felt odd for a couple of days - shaky, hot and cold flushes, clenched jaw, etc.

You should feel better soon. x

Ta Wizard It seems we all react differently and now I know its a side effect am learning to let it wash over me.
M
Very similar to Lottie (we have soo much in common!), no side effects either.

Withdrawal is horrible, I get electric shocks in my head and these wierd jolt things, really not pleasant so make sure you always have a sufficient supply and don't stop them suddenly.
Hi Jenna!! :o). We are similar aren't we!!

Once again can I thank you all, I very nearly gave up but am now on day nine and today have had a burst of energy, even put my christmas tree up and am smiling. I do know that side effects can dip in and out for a week or two, but am making the most of it.

Lots of love

Hi mamya.....had a quick glance at this post when i popped in last night, then decided it was a bit late to join in, as the post was a week old, so it was nice to see your update. Glad you managed to wait out the side-effects....the benefits are worth it in the end, i promise!
Good luck hun xx
I've been on them for a week now. The first two days i felt really sick but didn't know if it was the tablets or the upset i'd had. I'm feeling better emotionally now so they must be doing what it says on the tin.
