Lip piercing

what is the legal age for lip piercing? (not tongue piercing, btw). Is it any age?

I'm pretty sure it is the same as a tattoo, belly piercing etc so it would be 18

Surely you don't need to be 18 for a belly piercing? I know lots of sub 18-year-olds with belly piercings, and fewer (but some) with tattoos.

Under the age limit. Parental/Guardian consent must be given.

Well-named for this question, I'd have to say. So long as you've reached the age where you can legally be declared daft!

Just what is it with all these body piercings - why have it done?

I believe if you are between 16-18 you need a parent to come with you to have the piercing.A lot of tattooists will not allow under 18 in the shop.Be prepared for lots of blood!!!!!!

It's 18 without parental consent.  Some piercers will pierce any age if the child's parent is with them, others won't do under 16s full stop.  Merlin, if you don't understand the concept of having something just cos you think it looks nice, you'll never understand piercings, cos that's basically all they are!  And the worls would be pretty dull to look at if we all agreed on what looks good/suits us and what doesn't.

Yes, that's true, it would be a boring place if we all dressed the same and looked the same.

It must be just a matter of personal preference, Ear ornaments look OK and a discreet nose stud maybe, but having half a ton of brass clanking around your face doesn't do too much for the looks.

What gets me is that so many people are willing to risk hideous scars, low risk maybe but risk all the same, just to have an ornament stuck on their face.

Well, you might say, it's not my face (thank goodness!), but I still have to see them!!
