Hello I keep on hearing about this from time to time. That meat eaters have usually old meat lodged in their colon for years. Now Im a carnivore bigtime and I just cant believe that food can be there that long without causing a major health complaint as infections and/or blockages occur. Surely our colons are not this fragile? We were born to be carnivores just look at our teeth! Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

Thanks everyone for your great answers and great views. No Ive never been worried about this but curious. Im a meateater and love it and as long as you get a lot a fibre and have a balanced diet its all good.
exactly Eddie
so during the stone age the men only ate meat a few times a week? highly doubtful they ate whatever they killed along with any vegetables, it would have been their main source of protein and would have prevented them starving. , if anything we eat to much processed unnatural food these days that is marinated in chemicals
Cazz, like animals do now, probably stone age men ate the entire animal, including any vegetable product in the stomach. They would have also eaten berries and fruits. The meat we eat now is highly processed. The animals providing meat are fed a diet full of stuff to fatten them up unnaturally. To me meat is now another processed food!! If we didn't eat so much meat and only ate meat naturally raised and supplemented our diet with more veg and grain then we would all be healthier. But man is greedy!!!
Cazz plus it is red meat we are talking about, poultry and fish and roots and berries would also have been eaten
our teeth are not the teeth of a carnivore... we do not have fangs like dogs or cats etc. we have cutting and chewing teeth which we can use to eat most things

it we had to run down and kill a deer or something with our teeth and 'claws' we would fail miserably...we are not physically very good at being carnivores

we can only do it because we have the brains to invent wapons and traps
if we weren't meant to eat meat it wouldn't taste so good.
