could it be my appendix?

I know that if something is wrong with you're appendix you get an excrutinating pain just above your right leg (but i think some people have theres on left). But i'm getting cramp in the corresponding place to where my dads operation scare is from when he had his out and he can't remember if his started out like cramp (it was 50 years ago) could it be that, if not what else, its too far right and the wrong time for normal womens cramp.

I don't think iboprofen helped it.
If not should i mention it to my doctor when i go see her in cambridge about my shunt? i had an xray and the tubes all over the place so it could be that (i had random cramp in other places which she said might have been caused by the tube (at that point she didn't know where the tube was))

I can't remember exactly what the xray showed, but i remember asking the radiologist if it was going round in a loop around my live and he said that it was just below, on your right side.
but only a front/back xray so it was impossible to tell if it jsut twisted round or if it was almost constricting an organ.

i suggest asking a doctor online for medical matters .
could be gall bladder stones these can cause pain , could also be hernia , but in all causes what ever it could be its better to know so go see a doctor asap .
im sure the online or phone links provided already will help and most probably suggest exactly the same , there is no substitute for seeing a doctor

s_c...I agree to get expert advice on-line....but hoe does one know that they have a medical qualification? Trust is the bottom line. All on-line medical forums gives advice......that is all advice, the poster making the final decision.
NHS Direct is a waste of time and money.........in my opinion......reasons:
NHS Direct cost £139,000 to set up, to take the pressure off GP surgeries and A and E depts..
Every call costs £25.
60% of calls referred to GP&A&E.
Service spent £225,000 translating materials into Loatian and Cherokee, which are hardly spoken.
The problem is in many cases, is that the patient is no better off, not understanding what the Dr has said and investigations not being explained. Surely this would indicate some need for an on-line medically based forum, for which I believe AB serves that purpose.
