Anxiety and worry
30 Answers
I am so anxious for my sister in law. She is pregnant - overdue by 11 days, first baby, went into hospital yesterday afternoon, texted me this morning - 7.15 to say that she is 1cm diluted and wants to die because the pain is too much and she still at this time has not delivered!
My heart is pounding faster as I write this - I feel so sorry and extremely anxious for her.

Just been on the phone to my sister who is a health visitor and she reckons sis-in-law's labour is difficult because her hips are quite narrow but docs won't induce unless clear distress. The other thing is that she hasn't been active during pregnancy and I don't think she is walking around the ward because she becomes exhausted very quickly - but her mum had difficult pregnancies so maybe it is inheritery. (please correct my misspellings - It is so appalling and it bothers me that I misspell!)
Hi, received a text saying that the baby 'is expected tomorrow and she's had an injection to calm her down'. This is the longest labour I've heard of but at least she's getting there. I think she is still around 3 cm's not entirely sure. I'm happy to hear she's calmer and hopefully they will be a family of 3 tomorrow.
The film 'Precious' by the way I found depressing and really hard-hitting - probably not the best choice to have watched but I knew it was going to be uncomfortable viewing. Will make you cry.
Thank you again all of you for sharing your experiences. I am not going to post now on this thread until she gives birth so fingers crossed that it will be tomorrow! Until then I wish you all a really good weekend. x

Poodicat! Oh Poodicat - You are so absolutely RIGHT! The Little Sucker turned out to be a Boy! Had a call this morning but had to do the Asda shop first because that's a nightmare on Saturdays. It is a huge relief for all of us esp her family who are so close, that her labour finally came to a end! Mamyalynne thank you so much for your last post x.
Mummyhodge - I don't know if you're winding me up or not (Mummy name on a birth thread umm!) But resentment is not a trait I harbour or ever intend to, it has an ugly face that will evitably destroy the soul.
I called baby 'the little life sucker' because it was sucking the life out of me, my sister, my brother (but we not so bothered about him) my sis-in-laws small and close family and above all my sis-in-law herself! If you insist that 'blood-sucker' is synonmous (however spelt) with 'Life-sucker' then I use the term with the most affection I can possibly muster. I am so proud of my sis-in-law and so in love with the 'Little Life Sucker'. But won't get to see him until later in the week after her family has been and she has rested.
Love to you all and again many, many thanks xx
