Can you get the mumps as an adult if you have been innoculated as a child?

broadly speaking, not all innoculations "take" although I am not sure what the failure percentage is for mumps. I had German measles as a child, routine blood test in adulthood showned no

resistance, so I had the vaccination, routine blood test after that showed no resistance so I got vaccinated again and only then did I demonstrate resistance at the next blood test!
