Hi there Rain,
I was born in 1923,and have heard so many of these predictions!
Every 10 years or so people predict the end of the world.
If the end of the world ever does come,I think it will be with a cataclysmic bang, and we won't get any warning.
Most of the doomsayers are people addicted to numerolgy, who think they can predict the future by working it...

The current theory predicts that in the unlikely event of the Large Hadron Collider actually creating a micro black hole that the black hole will evaporate in a fraction of a second.
Cosmic rays produce far more powerful collisions in the upper atmosphere in large numbers every day and have been for billions of years. Yet we are still here.
The point of the LHC is to be able to observe the results of such collisions in a controlled environment.
The stories of the Earth being consumed are promulgated by ignorant sensationalists. Even if the black hole did not evaporate, its scale would be so small that it would take millions of years to actually consume the Earth. So if 2012 is the end then an LHC Black Hole won't be our nemisis.

Well, they haven't been right in the past, and I don't think they will be right in the future either.
So don't worry.
