Is there any part of my body that would be acceptable, like my eyes for instance as I have been on Warfarin since 1973? I feel I will be wasted when my time is up.

My Mother in Law was on warfarin for years. When she changed her doctor the new one took her off it immediately.

Apparently you shouldn't take it for more than 6 months!
Your corneas (at least) should still be useful:

Panic, I had heart surgery in 1973 and am on them indefinitely.
Thanks again Chris, I`ll see my GP next week and ask him to be sure.
I'm sure Panic Button means well, but for many warfarin is a lifetime medication.
How long do I need to take warfarin for?
How long you will need to take warfarin for will depend on the reason you have been prescribed it. You may only have to take it for a few months. Or you may need to take it for the rest of your life. Your doctor should tell you how long you need to take it for.
Never stop taking warfarin unless you are told to do so by your doctor.

Chris, I forgot to mention that I also have type 2 diabetes and prostate cancer, so do you think I should bother after all? I kid you not, and I still keep rolling along at 75yrs on a mobility scooter.
My sister has a stroke and will be on warfarin all her life (unless of course something better comes along). Carlton I think you intention is admirable, would you be wlling to donate your body for research when the time comes? If you have complex conditions then the health scientists could be interested to see how your body coped with them - it's not only the still-working-well bits than can be of use. I don't know how you go about it but I am sure it can still be done.

Boxtops: I have tried to, but my family won`t allow it.

no, you have no control over your body after you die; your heirs make the choices and if they want to ignore your express wishes they can. You might be able to work it into your will, though: money to go to your family three weeks after they've donated your body to science otherwise it goes to the Battersea Dogs Home.

I couldn`t bear to upset my family anymore if thats what they want, I do know they love me very much.
Hi carlton - I can understand both your family's and your stance on this subject. I too have many health issues. I have always carried a donor card and my family has always been aware of my thoughts on this matter. As my health has deteriorated I have said that I would be agreeable to my body being donated for scientific purposes. if that were deemed to be preferable to donating organs etc. After all, I am sure I have benefited from some sacrifices/gifts made by others who have gone before me and by their families. I believe that when I die it is merely a question of getting rid of my bodily remains. Fortunately my family have no trouble in accepting this. It is a difficult subject for many people to discuss and come to terms with. But in the end I believe it is a matter of practicality and putting something back into research programmes. In the meantime I just continue to annoy my family - only joking!
