Cluster headaches....

My cousin has just asked me what pain killer she would be prescribed for these type of headaches?

A colleague of mine gets them - they're quite rare apparently. He was told that painkillers don't work for these and he has triptan injections from the doctor.

My ex boss had them too, evil evil things. He couldn't take the usual sumapitran (sp?) but couldn't due to his heart problems.

He used to have oxygen tanks so he could breathe it in through a mask to try and lessen the attacks.

She's pulling a sickie though so don't be sympathetic....

Is she trying to con them she has them to pull the sicky? They incapacitated ex boss for the best part of 15 weeks last bad phase he had.

I suffer cluster headaches and there is no painkiller that works. Oxygen is given in hospital and you basically have to wait for it to go. Cluster headaches cause worse pain than giving birth with no pain relief!!!

my partner has been given morphine sulphate for them

gets them every spring time and they last for 3 months. only just started seeing him too, which has made it really difficult, as he doesnt want to see me until the 3 months has passed.
