For the last couple of weeks my index finger on my right hand seems to be swelling slightly. Also were I can make all my other fingers bend in to touch my hand I cannot bend this finger as much and it is painful to try this. We had a stag do at the end of march and there was a lot of play punching going on but this problem has only developed over the last 2 or 3 weeks so I don't know if that would be a reason ie that its broken. I do plan on going to the doctor some day maybe next week but am just looking to see what people may think it could be.

is it sore and red, my mum had this, plus the immobility.

does anything like sudocream help, it did her.
^^ Dont you just love her :0)
My mum had something similar . . . i don't pretend to be a doctor,
Google..."Trigger Finger"

Try Ibuprofen 400mgs three times a day.

No it doesn't show any outward signs other than being swollen. I'll check out what sudocream is for, I've seen it in my home house before but have never bought it myself.
Squad i thought you used to be a ears nose a throat doctor, or did you have to do general gp stuff before specialising?
You've been using your finger to much, Flobadob. Ease up on the fingering...
sudocrem is for nappy rash, excema, skin irritation..

its also crap, but that is just my opinion, some people swear by it.
molly...LOL, did 3years in GP....hated it....always wanted to be a surgeon, but even doing ENT one had to obtain the F.R.C.S which included a "stab" at all surgical specialities.
well if it is an irritation liek ym umms finger was then it might work but flob has said that there's no rednes so sudocrem probably wouldn't work, but its not going to kill them . . . unless they eat a huge tub of it and that might only make them sick.
aaahhhhhh, i weren't questioning your abilities to diagnose non ent problems jsut wondering how much you would actually know about them.

xx molly
molly....not a lot about ANY of them.:-)

Sounds like it could be arthritis
Question Author
I'm just turned 33, is it not a bit early for that?
arthritis can affect any age group
"more than me i hope squad, although i am an a* in biology . . . . "
