I think the underlying response possibly comes from western images of death as the grim reaper in his long black robe and cowl, and I agree with LL that some young women are using it as an aggressive act, as I know at least one who has very westernised parents of whom she is terribly ashamed due to their lack of devoutness and she wears hijab/face veil as a minimum burkha if she is going out

Suezy, there is one problem....I can't get up, fetch the hoist!!
I personally hate the darn things, would never ever volunteer to wear one and think they should be banned in this country - if they want to wear one, wear one where it is appropriate. i.e. where they originated.

They could hide a multitude of sins - and I don't mean cellulite and flabby bellies - there could be a terrorist under there. Like suzey, I do feel intimidated by them.
Question....when these Muslim wenches have passport photographs are they WITH or WITHOUT burkas?
That's a very good question Sqad!!

Could you imagine them the day they get the passport photo taken.."Mmmm what way should I do my hair? What colour burka will i wear today? Lipstick or lip gloss?"

Decisions decisions haha

Sorry Mamy, I'll help now!
Could you imagine trying to swim with that bikini, there'd be boobs everywhere if you were swimming hard!!
mamy.......LOL........LOL
mamy lol
That could be michael jackson for all we know lol

EEEEE HEEE!!! SHAMONE!!
Their pass ports actually have a little flap covering the face too! When I was in Malaysia a few years back you see them being taken in to a private room to be checked by female staff
TBH I had never seen anyone in a burka until I went to Coventry. I was shocked....but that's probably why I couldn't care less....I don't see them.
mamyalynne, if the HT on the licence stands for height, looks as if Fatima might be Fatiman.
Thanks suezy am up now, I shall get you a Burkini in an assortment of shades.
Brill, don't forget the flippers..can't have anyone seeing my feet
This is true, size 9 isn't it?
What??Size 5 I'll have you know and make sure they are black so I can wear my white sports socks just like mj....EEEE HEEEEE! :)
Some years ago a friend of mine worked as a chauffeur for a luxury limo company which had a contract with one of the Arab embassies in London. One day he got a call to take 4 burka clad figures to Shepherds Bush market with strict instructions to pick them up again at 1.00 p.m. He got to the market a few minutes early and when it was I.00 p.m. he went to look for them. He was horrified to see dozens of them.
Mcmouse...LOL
I got a vision there of 'March of the Penguins'
Going back to my previous comment, we used to live in a road that was predominantly inhabited by asians who mainly worked on the industrial estate down the road from us, but we never witnessed the women wearing burkas. We never felt in the least threatened or intimidated by these people, they went about their business quietly and made good neighbours. They were moslem women.) Just proved to me that this is a 'new cult'

Yes, I do find full burkas and covered faces intimidating and whilst I wouldn't want any rules and regulations about how people dress, I do think that this 'intimidating behaviour' shouldn't be tolerated. If a group of blokes walked down the street all wearing stockings over their faces, the law would come down on them!
