I wasnt sure to put this in Body & Soul or Food & Drink!!

I believe that eating too much beetroot will affect the colour of your urine - how much beetroot would cause this? Would it be excessive amounts or only a little bit?

LOL...no sorry....it is as simple as the beetroot.
really? just half a beetroot? i'm surprised as we eat a lot of beetroot, both pickled and roasted fresh and i've never noticed any different coloured urine. maybe i've just not looked.
If you want enough to dye your front room curtains A sack full will do and of course drink loads of water .

Here 2 Help
Having tasted beetroot, I'd say a normal portion was none.
It depends on whether you have a specific enzyme which breaks down the pigment. If you have it-no colour, if you don't- colour.
The same goes for asparagus and sugar puffs making your wee smell funny.
science teacher, that is quite interesting.....I always thought it was caused by the stomach pH.

Thanks
i had some last week, about 3 small beetroot and i noticed it next morning.

oddly, i was addicted to it when pregnant and it never dyed it then at all, and i ate loads
well, you never stop learning do you? very interesting.
.... and it has quite a serious affect on the more solid bodily wastes too.
I love beetroot and it colours my wee significantly. Some cereals with milk also make my wee smell funny. Does this mean I have two enzymes which cause this or just one enzyme which causes both?
