ocd of evenness

Is it possible I have OCD about things being even and in patterns?
These are some of the things I do;
# If I rub my tongue round a tooth etc, I have to do it again the other way.
# I painted stencils onto my bedroom wall, in random ways, and now two that are clsoer together than others really annoys me.
# I have to have matching socks. I have a set of white trainer socks that have three pairs of slightly different purple stripes, but I have to wear the ones that match.
# I never wear pigtails (even when i was little because one side of my head has thicker hair and it annoys me if I see it uneven.)
# I have to make sure I brush each quarter of my set of teeth for the same amount of time.
. . . it goes on, please don't make me paranoid, but have I got OCD for things being even and in a pattern?

When you have OCD you feel overwhelmed by anxiety if you do not do certain things, almost like a ritual.
These ‘rituals’ take over your everyday life completely
If you do not do them the anxiety makes you feel as if you are in danger and you have do to something to protect yourself, things like ummmm has suggested.

Im with you and the majoriy of posters here.I have to straighten pictures everywhere I go it drives me nuts.Im with ummm in agreeing that the odd stencil on your wall would have to go.It would drive me to distraction. My husband deliberately moves a free-standing pic in the lounge a fraction and i go in and straighten it much to his bemusement as he cant understand why i'd notice such a miniscule difference.
So my idiosyncracies tend to veer toward 'precision'.
Think youre normal-just have diffierent idiosyncracies than others but we all have them.

I have OCD and i dont do things like that, although OCD can come in all shapes and sizes, so you could still have it but different than me. Mine is cleanliness, handwashing, and cleaning the house, it has to be done a certain way, certain time, and in the same routine everyday or i cant cope, if i need to go somewhere first thing in the morning when i should be doing a certain chore, it stresses me out so much that i havent done it, it makes me feel ill, and i have to do it as soon as i get home, im better than i used to be when my kids were both little, if i had cleaned the sink, it couldnt be used until the evening, and if i had washed the floors i made my kids sit in the porch until it dried, then once it was dry they couldnt walk on the floor they had to crawl on all fours across it, im no where near that bad anymore but still suffer with it and i prob always will. xx
I think that's fine what you do, molly. I like certain things to be just so, but other things I couldn't care less about. When I laid some tiles in a long-ago bathroom, some were not the same way up as the others - I couldn't settle until I'd lifted them and reset them until they matched. I can't bear clothes where stripes don't match up or aren't symmetrical - but that's the dressmaker in me! I was fortunate that my tabby cat is absolutely matching on both sides with his stripes, otherwise he'd be in trouble... (well probably not, but you know what I mean).
aahhh.
aww thanks toni.
Plus I hate the tiles in the kitchen and my nans kitchen. We have random terracotta/ white/ cream tiles and she has random floral/pink/white tiles and it anoys me how some of the same colour are touching and others are miles apart, I hate looking at both, they annoy me so much I can barely bare to look at them.

Molly .you are probably quite a sincere person , but you don't half raise some stupid issues.Of course you haven't got OCD, but you do have too much time to spend in an unproductive way. If you are not careful you may become known as an attention seeker.
