Hi Out there...feeling a bit down. Today was my weekly weigh in and have again put on 1 lb. making it a total of 6 pounds in a couple of months. I have doing Rosemary Connely since last Sept and managed to loose 10 kilos.
My doctor had given me pills to help keep my hunger down ( I didn't think they did) but now they have been taken off the market. (can't remember their name)

I am eating the same and exercising every day (am 70 yrs old) so I just wanted some support really. I shall keep on of course but it is so annoying to see numbers going the wrong way.

What a really good thread ,I'm so glad I've found you all .I am 77 and despite this ádvanced age I really would like to lose a couple of stone (in my case it would be kilos as I live in Australia) .I have breathing problems so am on steroids which don't help with weight loss .Used to be quite active but sadly no longer but anyway you've all made me decide to have another go (definitely not for vanity's sake!) .Will check in on Wed.am if I may .Cheers .
By the way Hi to Lottie !
OMG it is Wed . Will report in later !
Go for it Dolly.....just be gentle with yourself and any extra exercise however gentle will help...even if it is only dancing to a few of your favourite songs...and I don't mean mad energetic either just enough so you feel like you've done something....I sometimes have to use my inhaler before exercise and I'm only 53 so I know that sometimes you have to be a bit careful let us know how you get on....If the steroids make you hungry you might find a GI based diet works better as you get less hungry between meals

Good Morning Everyone, Well it's Wed and the scales gave me the same info as they did on Sat. :-( however it is only 4 days since the last weigh in for myself so I am sure that next Wed I shall have a smile on my face. I have taken on board all your good advice and re read it also.
Since last Sept. I had lost 10½ kilos, (we don't do stones in Denmark) but it is now reduced to 9½. kilos. It's hard to say how many clothes sizes I have gone down as the sizes vary so much don't you think. I am excited to hear how it goes with our other ABers today.
Good morning fellow - what do we call ourselves? dieters? slimmers? thinners? - we don't all want to be slim, just less! Over to xstitcher to decide, it's your sticky thread!

I declare - I am 15st 3lbs this morning, which is, I will say from the outset, a vast improvement from the 15st 13lbs I was at New Year. I want to be in the 14st area by Christmas at the very latest. There, I've said it in public.

Good luck to everyone else this morning, I can hear those scales across the world creaking a bit as you get them all out together!
Morning ladies of the healthy eating group. I am pleased to say I have lost 2 lbs as I stayed the same last week. That is 1 stone and 3 lbs in 10 weeks so I should be on track for that 2 stone before my birthday end of oct,Boxtops I was 15st 8lbs when I started and now I am 14st 5 so will be great when I get under the 14 . Then as I said aim to lose another before xmas. Don't get discouraged if you stay the same one week as it will come off the next like I have done. Dolly I just do a gentle hip and waist excersise I do a slow move like if you were using a hool a hoop. Keep up the good work and x stitcher dont weigh till next wed now and good luck to you all.

I just converted my weight to stones and I am 14 stones 12.3 pounds and 5ft. 8 in tall.
I had to laugh at boxtop's remark about all the scales all over the world creaking as they got pulled out this morning.
How about those that are creative coming with ideas for the name of our group (something we can shorten down) and we could vote on what we like best on Sat because that was the day this all started? I do agree that we deserve a good name for good people.
When I got dressed I was putting on warmer clothes than I have used for the past 3 months and my belt to my jeans had to go IN one more notch...very strange for one who is putting on weight, but nice.

not too far off the same as you then xstitcher, I'm 5ft 7 - and yes, isn't it lovely when clothes start to get loose?!
I am a bit flabby, I don't mind saying so - so, a name suggestion - ABFLABS?

Why would tablets be more dangerous for a healthy 70 year old when perscribed and watched by a qualified doctor? I don't take them anymore as I didn't feel they were helping but really can't see any problem there as long as there is qualified monitoring.

That is great Wendilla. I know the "feel good" rush that you are having. When my weight goes down which it has except for the standing still or this hic cup, you can almost see my halo shining !!! :-)
I've put on 2lbs since last week and i'm not happy :(
Daffy do you know why you have put on 2 lbs. Don't give up just get back on track.
another 1lb this week despite a less than virtuous w/end so thats 16st 4lbs from 19st 13lbs...taken a long time just over a year because I went off plan from Dec to may due to stress.... but now have a real motivation.... plan is 15st something by end of sept so only a 5lb target for next month....as things are really stressful at home No Red if you read this nothing more than you already know about but def makes chocolate and cake more tempting....Housemate is trying to sabotage...4 different tubs of Ben and Jerrys in the freezer as well as a chocolate cheesecake in the fridge

not fair.....
Rowanwitch if it is of any help I drink a glass of unsweetened grapejuice every morning. This seems to stop me from craving for sweet things and it also helps to break up fat in your body. It may not work for everyone but it does for me.Also you have done well in what you have lost in a year and remember a 1lb off is a 1lb of the right way better off than on .
yes, well done rowan, thats a great loss, infact very well done to you all! :o)

we all think oh dear its only 1lb off this week dont we .. but remember that IS still VERY good!! really it is. imagine how we'd feel if it was a lb ON each week..! :o/

i find i need to watch the ol carbs if i want to lose some weight, which i do want to, plus it helps with my bg levels as im type 2 diabetic - such as bread, pasta and potatoes etc.. so ive just had some crackerbread crisp breads with sliced bananna on top for my dinner with a coffee, and i really enjoyed it.

at just 3.8 carbs for each cracker, and very few calories, i think theyre only about 14 cals each(?) you can have a few! - so i had 5 in all, and that satisfied me nicely. better than having bread, a sandwich of 2 slices at 14 or 15 carbs (about 100 cals) per slice.

i dont know about you ladies, but im fine in the day with regards to meals and eating, its evening time, when im settled with my feet up watching the telly, thats when i seem to want and need something nice to munch on.

anyway, keep up the good work ladies, its hard i know, but youre all doing well and are going in the right direction! :o)

i think the name ABFLABS is a great name!!! very good :o)

Welcome on board Dolly. You really are from far away! From what I am reading here we really are a bunch of determined change of life stylers and it gives me such pleasure to hear all the stories. The longer we can keep this going the more successful we will be however big or small our goals are. Anymore names for us ????
