Is it normal to find it hard to keep your hands at a nice temperature?

Mine almsot always sem to be freezing cold or dripping with sweat.

People always comment on them, normally to say 'oh gosh your hands are freezing.' Or I find myself rubbing my hands on my jeans to get the sweat off it I have to do a handshake etc.

I think i have low blood pressure, could that be a reason behind it? Well for the coldness at least?

They always seem to be cold or sweaty (even if i've not been doing sports).
You think you have low blood pressure, why?

I have low blood pressure with a fast heartrate and I rarely have cold hands, I'm usually really warm if anything but don't get sweaty hands either.

Every time i've had a test it's been low (but within normal, healthy limits.) They often get sweaty if i'm writing a lot. It's wierd then, if i've written an essay or an exam, I have one hand freezing cold and the other all sweaty.

jenna, it's the only thing i could think of to explain it. But it is harder to regulate the temperature of extremities isn't it.
well molly, as the old saying goes, cold hands warm heart.
Which is a load of bull. My hands are usually cold and I do NOT have a warm heart :-)
cold hands, warm heart............and dirty feet :)
my son suffers from cold, sweaty hands too. absolutely nothing to worry about. it's like some people have sweaty feet and some don't, some people have greasy skin, some don't.
Yeah but....
no but ......
My 12 year old has always had really cold, sometimes clammy hands. When she hurt her wrist a couple of months ago but were puzzled as to how it could have happened (no injury etc.) I mentioned it to the doctor incase it was relevant and he told me that girls hands are always a lot colder than boys, just the way it is.
Do you smoke? I heard recently that smokers tend to have cold hands as it effects the circulation. So maybe your hands would get colder shortly after a ciggie. But then that wouldn't explain the hotness.

Intresting wingnut.

No milly, I don't and never intend to start.
Mollykins - do you have hyperhidrosis - which is excessive sweating of the palms, undersides of feet, armpits, groin, etc? I never gave this a second thought in myself (always knew that my feet were always sweaty) but when I had to have my leg in a plastic boot (broken ankle) for at least 8 weeks, all the skin on the underside of my left foot peeled off. Oh boy, it looked yuck! The physiotherapist diagnosed the condition immediately. You don't have to have it in all the above mentioned body areas, just one or more ....
