What's they best thing to put on my hand to stop them getting sweaty when I do ceremonial rifle practice on saturday which will be for about 5 hours!

Chalk is out of the question, would antipersperant help, or is there something else?

talc?
Why is chalk out of the question?
yes an antiperspirant would help, make sure it is an anti-antiperspirant and not just a deodorant though.
anti-antiperspirant ???? What The Funicular!!

Redman it's ceremonial stuff like presenting arms and stuff.

Chalk or any other powder, I should have said are out of the question.

Doc, it needs to be something i can do/wear when we do it for real for trafalgar day, and we can't wear gloves for that.

Umm because it needs to be something i can wear for the proper parade, and chalk or talc etc would go on my uniform, and although it would come out, I can't be brushing it off as we're marching along

Doc that won't work when it comes to trafalgar day.

That's why I could only think of anti-persperant. it needs to be a liquid or a spray of some kind . . . . something that won't stain my uniform if i touch it.
keep a small towel in your pocket, and wipe your hands at regular intervals
No!!
Are the guns loaded with water, molly ....like this one?....

Doc, but I can't, during the drill competition last year, when I had a rifle (but a different kind) I practically dropped it. Luckily it was during a movement where you kind of have pass it to your otherhand, which I managed to pull off. But these are heavier so my hands are going to sweat even more, and during this parade you're carrying the rifles for longer than i did in the competition.

Spit, they have cement in the barrel, so they can't be shot.

Just wipe them on your trousers...
