Noticed yesterday I have a lump on my earlobe that causes pain when I touch it or lie on it. It's about the size of a pea and is right underneath/on the cartilidge. I do have pierced ears but haven't worn earings for years and there is a fair gap between the hole and the lump so I don't think they could be related. Any idea anyone?

And don't bother saying "don't touch it then". I didn't find it funny the first ten times I heard it today. :o)
Go to your doctor milly. It could be a cyst that needs lancing.
Thats really syrange, i have found the same a couple of days ago.I have assumed its a small cyst, but if anyome else has any ideas i too would be interested in them :-)
*strange even lol
My husband had one years ago and it grew and grew. He had it lanced. Problem solved.

Very odd Lorri!

Thanks Chrissa. Can you tell me, did it hurt to treat it? What happens if you just leave it?
Well, he went to our doctors and they just told him it was nothing and it wouild go away. Then, after he looked like Dumbo, he called on the "on call" doctor who lived in our village. He was a very crusty old doc and after telling my husband he was a bothersome patient, he got a scalpel and slashed it. It burst and spewed out lots of grunge. I think I could hear the expletives from our house half a mile away so yes, it hurt but if it had been caught earlier it wouldn't have been so bad. Is that any help?
well get it checked out - I had a small irritating lump in my nose and that was extracted - and you can hardly see the scar mark - it was pre-keratosic (pre-cancerous) and was a result of my travelling around the world without proper factor when I was younger in my 20s and 30s.....I now use Clinique 15 or 30 - not cheap but it works up to 6hrs in the heat/humidity (playing golf|) and is not oily on application.

Certainly does help. I.E. Go to the docs next week because if you leave it to a grumpy on call doctor, he will make sure it hurts! :o)
It was definitely made more painful by the crusty old doc. He's dead now. The doc not my husband. Ha.
Epidermal Cyst......no big deal.........go to GP if it causes you problems and he will refer you to hospital for excision under local anaesthetic.
I had exactly the same a few months back, milly. I just left it alone and it's completely gone now.
There's always one milly. Lol.
I hope it Does go away though.
