In 2006 I bought a jade bangle. It was forced on to my wrist and now I would like to take it off. Short of breaking the bangle how can I get it off? I have tried using hand cream, soap, and putting my hand in ice water. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I would like to get it off after four years.

Cooking Oil?
if it too small to get off, your only options are to either cut it off or cut your hand off.

4 years?

cant you get someone to cut it off using bolt cutters or something??
Putting your hand in iced water may make your hand shrink a bit, but the bangle would also contract when it got cold.

Somehow you need to chill your wrist abut at the same time heat the bangle.

Good game.
with it being jade if you can't get it off using oil, i'm afraid breaking it is the only alternative

Thanks all sadly your answers are what I thought they would be. Tho I did think that if t went on it should come off. It cost $200.00 so am reluctant to beak it but looks like the only way out. or off.

Go on a crash diet?
I'd certainly try a fine grade oil (baby, KY?), more likely to work than handcream or soap. A jeweller would be able to saw it off for you cleanly.

i think a jeweller is your best bet to get it off cleanly, but jade isn't malleable so if you can't get it off using oils etc breaking it is the only way i'm afraid. i have quite a bit of jade jewellery and several bangles i can't wear any more, shame as i love them
Go to A&E, my mum got her hand stuck in a teapot and they had some special slippery stuff they used to free it. It works for small boys with pots stuck on their heads....
Is it effective against all clichés?
KY Jelly .. That's pretty slippery!
Just chill your hand first. Than try.
I believe that there is a chinese tradition that breaking jade deflects bad luck...that the jade breaks instead of the person breaking as it were.
