My parents have gone out and are syaing that tidying my room is more important than homework and that it has to be done first but I haven't got time to do both. Plus it's my friends birthday dinner tonight and if i don't have my room done then i can't go to her party.

I'm 17 and they're treating me like a 7 year old. I'm doing 4 hard a-levels and they just don't seem to care that i have soo much work to do, then it'll be them that has a go at me when I fail, because i haven't done enough work, and they'll make me pay for the resits and I don't get EMA, I don't get pocket money and I have too much work to do, to get a job.

What can I do, dad was V angry when he left.

OMG -I cant believe how harsh yet again some have been on good ole Molls.
Postdog couldnt even be bothered to read it but still had something to say -whats that all about then?????? Bandwagon see it jump on it .....I could say more as ive seen pics but I wont but pot kettle black springs to mind and thats not to anyone in particular;)

Really at the end of the day if you have kids who are tidy then you dont understand what its like to have kids- who are in small rooms and are working hard-to keep it tidy. Its a big deal to some -its bugger all to me -my son did most of his studying in a tip (I wasnt allowed in btw im not Molly so dont start lol) and eventually graduated with (Hons) at the age of 22.

Leave the girl alone -if its constructive fine and conducive to her OP but dont just post cos you see her name on recent posts and think she's fair game...she's not...well not so long as my arse points down the way (if I think Brownie points are being scored ) :)
Now tidy your room Molly keep on top of it and then parents will have to find something else to moan about cos thats what a lot of us are like -you'll see:)

FYI whoever it was that mentioned the military, when I go away with cadets, sometimes to military bases, I do keep my stuff tidy, but that's because It's only my stuff I've got to keep tidy and in a space that's big enough!

I went to the party BTW and it was great but slightly awkward as the waitress allocated to our table (of 16 people) has been in my class since we were 8/9 and i'm working with her on an engineering project in maths but i don't particularly get on with her, but the other end of the table were acting like 5 year olds colouring stuff in etc, and someone go a baloon string stuck in their braces lmao, and had to go to the toilet to sort it out.
Sounds like you had a good time, glad you did.
Mollykins from what I have read of your posts in the past, your parents are lucky to have such an articulate sweet mannered girl. I feel that your homework is more important, When the homework is done, tidy your room. You seem such a sweet person.

Thanks smurfy.

They tried to apply me to the tv programme 'world's strictest parents' but the show wrote back saying that I was better than what most the teenagers are like at the end of the programme.LOL.
glad to hear you had a good time last night molly.
by the way, was it a harvester you went to beings you said some were colouring in? (just wondered, as they supply colouring bits there for the little uns to keep them occupied)
