anyone use one? if so, do you find it more effective than just giving your tongue a good old scrub with your toothbrush? how many of you scrub your tongue?

Some toothbrushes have one on the back ... but I find they make me gag ...

... so I do scrub my tongue, but just with my toothbrush.
Me....I just use my toothbrush.

Nobody wants to share a tongue that's all furry, or smelly.
I use both. Depending on my mood or whether my scraper is in my 'weekend' toilet bag or easily accessible. Both make me gag.
There is a special brush available ( also special gel) for tongues, called Tung - available in Waitrose. OH uses them, but even the THOUGHT of them makes me gag!
It's funny that we can overcome the gag reflex in some circumstances ...

... but not when it's a plastic thing.
I use one occassionally, when the mood takes me. It's fine and is much more effective than a brush. If you work right at the back, then the gag reflex can kick in, but you usually get a bit of warning of the start and bring it forward again. Anyway, sword swallowers prove that the gag reflex can be controlled :-)
I always use one in the days leading up to a visit to the dentist - it must be horrible for him to see all that gunk on the back of the tongue.
JJ I can see a Salla reply appearing any moment!

oooh girlies, you are awful, but i like you :o)
saw a programme on tv about dieting and the effect it can have on your tongue. also the dentist tells me that the older you get, the thicker your saliva becomes meaning it doesn't clean the bacteria from your tongue as effectively. think i'll be paying boots a visit later for a scraper, they seem to do the best job in getting rid of the white residue.
I feel a bit nauseous.

well, what other reason would you use a tongue scraper for???
I'm not keen on introducing foreign into my mouth, but if I have to, then I will....
Funny....my tongue is immaculate and I do not use scrapers.....just mouthwash.......such an important organ....
