Is it something specific you dislike so just a name that you want? This is a pretty comprehensive list of most phobias. I'm wondering if there's one for irrational dislike and fear of touching wet tissue!

I have genuphobia, which makes Scottish celebrations and summer a bit of a nightmare. Not to be confused with genophobia btw!
I have a friend who doesn't like buttons and another who won't cross a slatted bridge in case she falls through the slats (as if, being she is quite large).
What is your fear of?

Funny that, my daughters friend has a Phobia of BUTTONS, has had since a child. She's ok if they are secure but a loose button sends her into a panic arrack. I've seen her change to ashen grey, shake from head to foot and gasp for breath when she's seen a loose button on the floor, any size doesn't matter.
She never buy's anything with even a single button on. At school kids were cruel, they used to place loose buttons in her desk just to see her freak out.
She doesn't know the name of it.

well its hard to describe you see...its a very physical reaction, it is kind of claustrobia...but i dont mind being in lifts or crowds etc but if you were to roll me up in a duvet i would utterly freak out...but also i get the same uncontrollable arrrghh feeling if i do something fiddly like rethread a sewing machine...or if my fingers, toes, and armpit skin touches itself ...and the only way to stop it is to spread them or put fabric between...i get a kind of shiver of 'ew' if you get me..i get it most when i think of it really...i mean my fingers etc brush each other all the time...its when they are sort of touching solidly i suppose.
tight, constrictive clothing sets it off too...seems to be if my arms are free then im ok...
the biggest problem with it is strangely a fear of being in a accident which means i cant move - car, building collapse etc - not scared of being hurt etc ...just knowing that i will freak out until i am rescued, because im stuck...
so you see its a bit of an odd one..hard to pinpoint...
laugh away...

Sounds like a sort of fear of restriction.... I don't think it's particularly funny but it is unusual. Would you say it's impacting massively on your day to day life? If so, then probably seeing a GP and seeing what treatments for phobias are available in general (thinking something like hynosis) and if not, then just treat it as a quirk of your personality.
