Tried to get some heavy boxes in the back seats of the car today nightmare, they kept getting stuck around the seat beat things so I kept lifting the full weight at arms length so I could move them over the seat belts. Now the top of my left shoulder really aches it's some 10 hours since the lifting. I have tried to put hot water bottle on top on my shoulder but it hurts more, possibly due to the weight of the water bottle plus it keeps falling off my shoulder as i sit here in my chair. It not bad enough to take pain killers now, but as I have never pulled a shoulder muscle before I wondered if anyone had any recommendations/advice, I'm dreading morning in case it's worse.

I think I am going with sirus as it's the brightest star
If still painful in the morning, go to A&E...........you may have done more damage than you think!...........

lol sorry about sirus wrong question ...lol
I once had an inflamed shoulder, commonly known as a 'frozen shoulder' or capsulitis, and made the mistake of trying to force movement. Eventually went for osteo treatment and was told that forcing it had been the wrong thing to do. Treatment consisted of surprisingly gentle exercises that stopped short of being painful. Best to get medical advice if it doesn't improve in a day or two.

Thanks squad, but luckily not feeling anything so far this morning, don't know if that'll change though,

Fingers crossed
Go to A&E and ask them to page the on-call orthopaedic registrar.

You could have pulled a muscle or sustained a rotator cuff tear.. but you won't know until you're seen.
NoM.....you must be joking.

He will either be in O.P´s seeing 60 patients or in theatre with a long theatre list...the last thing that he would be interested in is a patient in A&E with a painless shoulder.
no disrespect nom, but i dont think AE departments work like that !
