can't believe it's happened to me!
I'm pretty sure that's what I've got. I remember my mum suffering with them as a child, and never really understanding what she meant - blimey I do now!
Just wondered if anyone could recommend an over the counter treatment.

Anusol. But consider a diet with a higher fibre content. Porridge or All Bran for breakfast, more fruit and vegetables. And less alcohol.

Anusol, moist wipes after bog roll for squeaky cleanliness high fibre diet and plenty of fluids.
All of the above after your doc has had a good look around down there just to be sure of your self diagnosis. (Don't be alarmed when the miner's helmet goes on) :)

Well two things come to mind

1) Piles
2) Fissure in Ano.

The initial treatment is the same for both.......as sandy and douglas have mentioined.........Anusol cream from the chemist.

If it hasn´t settled within a week, then see your GP.

when my mum had a thyroidectomy when i was about 13, she had to go onto a different ward, as hers was being refurbished. It was a ward, where all the ladies were walking very slowly. I thought they'd all had babies and asked where they were. My mum said they'd all hadoperations for piles.
One day, on a visit, I heard a blood-curdling scream coming from the bathroom and I looked at my mum in horror.
I'll never forget what she said "Don't worry, it's just Shirley having her first poo"
I've being terrified if getting piles ever since!

oh, i meant to say thanks for the advice too ♥
1) Eat plenty of food that contains high-fiber including wholemeal bread, pasta and brown rice etc.
2) Avoid de-hydration. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily.
3) Need regular exercise. At least a 15 minutes walk.
4) Take warm baths to ease the itching and pain.
5) Use ice pack to relieve the pain.
6) Push the piles gently back into your rectum.
