What is it that causes the end of your nose to itch maddeningly for hours?
I had it most of the day today, driving me to distraction!
I felt like taking the sandpaper to it just for a bit of peace.

thanks

I wouldn't like to say, I've never had it.
I will assume from your short description that it is just an itchy nose without sneezing or running nose...........right............if so.........I have no idea.
I get an itchy nose when I'm irritated. Working where I work, that can be all day.

Thanks all,

Milly, do you also have no running or sneezing? I can't say it comes on for any particular reason, just occurs very occasionally. When it does it is such an irritant, and I am constantly rubbing my conk on my sleeve, rough tissues, scratching with my nails - it is embarrassing to say the least as I look like a right dirty little tike.
Although my comment was honest, I would imagine it's not the same issue you have. I don't have sneezing etc but I know it's so annoying and it makes it look like you're picking your nose all the time.

Does it change when you go somewhere different?

I think it kind of wears off gradually, as when I got home tonight it wasn't itching.
I work in a sort of warmish office, kept to a temp of approximately 20-21 degrees, which is a bit warm for me, I prefer 17-19 degrees. Perhaps it's the warmth causing the itch.

I was hoping to hear from more fellow sufferers.

Aah pix - you feel my pain!!
the only time I get an itchy nose is when my hands are full!
Always in the dentist's chair, when you know its out of reach and once when having a minor surgical proceedure. You have to find out whats causing the sensitive nerve endings to react. Some form of stress maybe.
I get a tickle like a hair inside mine although I don`t have any long hairs protruding out. Very annoying ain`t it?
