.....that 99% of posts in this section are about females getting "dumped" or having a "spat" with their "unreasonable" male partner?
Is it
A) because 99% of the time it is the male that is at fault
B) because the male also has issues with the other half, but sorts them out himself without resorting to the world wide web
Surely it is often stated that males don't like to discuss their issues whilst females are all for it, generally I mean, as a group; individuals can buck the trend.
i have recently noticed that too, and i think it is because the woman in question should leave/not have entered the relationship with the childish and mothered blimp in the first place, and also not put so much effort into enduring the relationship ...
i wish i was wiser in my twenties though!
** i also know we are only having one side of the story, and he may have a 'version' of his own too ... **
I asked my OH about this when someone said that maybe people shouldn't be putting their relationship problems on the internet. His answer...no, it wouldn't bother him.
Your friends are very different then, sqad - I don't know anyone (now or in the past) who would have had a heart to heart with his pals about relationship issues.
I suspect it is the depth of the personal talk with friends that differs. Males may mention there is a problem but apart from a small amount of sympathy if there is no clear solution the subject isn't kept up for the sake of it. This might be misinterpreted as not being discussed. I suspect women stay with the discussion a lot longer believing it is helpful as support.
I never do that, put everything on here, or in real life, it's not anyone's business for a start, and leaves one open for all sorts of bad advice, or abuse if you do.
I must be in the minority when I say that I don't talk to ANYONE about my relationship problems. If I did, I certainly wouldn't do so on any web based forum.
I can't imagine my OH talking to his mates about our marriage. I met him in the pub recently where one if his mates was spilling his guts to him, he dumped the poor bloke on me as soon as he saw me, he just doesn't do personal stuff in public. Women are completely different, we like to give our lives a good airing now and again.
To be honest I'm lucky that I've ever had relationship problems so I don't know if I would talk to anyone or not, all my friends do talk about it though, usually at great length. The difference I think on here is the fact that some of the ladies felt helpless and alone, so it's probably comforting that the can come on here and talk, blokes just bugger off down the pub.
