Second Date
12 Answers
So, it looks like we are on for the fireworks on Saturday. Yippee! However, he has told me a bunch of his mates will be there too.
I have this awful habit of being crippled with fear when I'm with people I don't know, especially a group of people who all know each other and it makes me come over as offish. He's said if I'm uncomfortable around them all then we can just wonder off but that will make me look like a cow too.
How do I play this? Considering it's only our second date isn't it a bit full on?
Shall I just drink a bottle of vodka before we go? ;)

You're not actually going there with his mates in tow, but they are just going to be there - is that right? So you're not going to be spending the whole evening with them. I suspect he wants to show you off to his friends, but chances are he'll want to spend most of the time alone with you as he obviously likes you.
Tenrec's idea is good - why don't you make sure some of your friends will be there as well. So at least you can say 'Oh there's xxxxxxx, just going over to say hello, back in a minute,' if you start feeling too uncomfortable.
But I've got a feeling it will be a lovely evening. xx

Evian, bear in mind that his friends will be meeting you for the first time as well, and they might be a bit tongue tied when their mate turns up with this gorgeous lady. Remember that they might be nervous about saying silly things too.
It's easy for me to say, but just relax and try to enjoy yourself. If you say or do the wrong thing, just apologise, admit you're nervous and try to laugh it off. x
