I met a really nice young man on Thursday night. He's a chef on a private boat. He's lovely. The boat leaves on Monday :(

Yes the text has gone. Looks like the sailor boy is not really that interested, he's not replied. Maybe I killed it with the sentence "I doubt you would..." ah well... better the devil you know than the devil you don't. There is time yet, he did say he'd be in touch. Hopefully not just to say goodbye. x
I would not be particularly enthusiastic to go anywhere with someone who sent me a text like that. The first bit is a bit 'well come if you want but it's no skin off my nose if you don't' and the second part sounds like you're digging for compliments re spending time with you. You basically come across as not massively interested either way and I would respond in a similar tone.
when's he due back? You could send a text then saying that you'd like to see him again if there's a chance that you can get together.
Did you only send the text today? If so, I'd give it longer. I never reply to texts straight away, because I rarely have my phone glued to my side :-)
I do think the "I doubt you would" line was a bit much. I read it like you were almost seeking reassurance. That's the problem with texts though, as the way you mean them may be completely different to how the other person reads it.... does that make sense? :)
If he hasn't replied by tomorrow mid-afternoon, then give him a call. You haven't got anything to lose. x
Unfortunately , inamuddle I think you're right.......I would have thought if the buoy was interested he would have replied instantaneously.

He knows im interested. I've told him. I wouldnt be messaging him and making the first move if I wasnt interested. If I wasnt interested, I wouldnt message at all.
If you don't hear, text him tomorrow saying "sorry we couldn't meet up before you left, have a good trip" - no more, just leave it at that. See what happens then.
No Boxy! No more texts! Lol He's going to think she's some kind of bunny boiler :D
If he was interested to the depths you are he'd do the chasing.
I don't think the one would hurt, just a follow-up, but silence after that.
But some people don't reply straight away, Talbot.
I appreciate time is of the essence, but I would back off a bit and just wait and see if he contacts you first. Then follow it up with a call.
If he doesn't answer, then you know where you stand.

Im not going to stress, he is just a man I've met. He said he'll be in touch when he finds out what the rest of his team are doing. Cant win them all. x
No man is worth stressing out over! :-)
He is basically a sailor and like many sailors he will have a girl in every port. (The others have boys.)

He was in for fun and you have come back too strong for his way of life. You are very unlikely to hear from him again.

Don't waste your emotional energy on this man.
Lol. Don't beat around the bush will you, Beso :P
I certainly wouldn't send another text if he doesn't reply to this one, no way, even if it was only saying good luck.
For your sake I hope he replies to the one you've already sent.
Well said beso, inamuddle and I certainly wouldn't txt him again, if he replies fair enough.
girl in every port ??
