The guy sees nothing wrong with quitting his job (because he's tired of working and can depend on others to feed and clothe him) and spending this last pay cheque on booze and ridiculously expensive shoes. If it weren't for my daughter their sons would starve and be dressed in rags.
The guy thinks he's God's gift to women and nothing is too expensive as long as it's his and as long as it makes him look better.

I agree Tali...but she's not at that place yet. She knows her future with him looks bleak and though she frequently kicks him out, she's yet to find the fortitude to make it permanent.
It's heartbreaking for us to watch but we can't force her or live her life for her.
She's determined to make it a long, hard life lesson and we have no choice but to love and support her (emotionally).

I didn't realise until I walked away from the relationship, to save my own sanity, that I had been dating a narcissist.
Through researching the net I learned that these are not just 'messed up' misogynists but people with a Mental Health Syndrome - and should be avoided.
They sap your self-esteem, ambition, trust and confidence, in a short space of time you discover you are their 'doormat', walking on eggshells and constantly trying to appease them.

Hi Guys...
Thanks for all your replies - sorry for the delay...
I have moved out from living with this person and am in the process of buying a flat. I'm not sure if he does have NPD, but certainly some aspects of his behaviour were quite tricky. I still see him about once a week and little by little, we are talking about what went on.....
