I split up with an abusive ex and very shortly afterwards met someone else, at first it was just a rebound thing but then developed into a 'proper' relationship. However, he has always liked me more than I liked him and I always told him I wasn't ready for a 'serious' relationship as I felt it was too soon and I never really felt in love with him. He's a lovely guy though and has put up with a lot...i didn't realise how much the abusive relationship with my ex has affected my behaviour. We have had several big rows lately and ended up splitting up several times and getting back together but I think last Friday's argument was the final straw for him. He now refuses to speak to me or answer my texts.Altho we are clearly not right for each other i would dearly love to speak to him to 'clear the air'. Any suggestions please? The argument was silly and petty and not about anything serious, I completely overreacted to a remark he made....as usual. I really care about him and do not want any animosity between us.
send him a card and write your sentiments in it. I think you've realised that it wasn't a healthy relationship and it's fairer for both of you to find an equal partner.
all you can do is offer your apologys but he doesnt have too accept it. Sounds like hes angry or fed up with your situation, .give him some breathing space.
I read the whole story and quoted"I completely overreacted to a remark he made....as usual. ".
Would you like to say sorry for your overreaction? Well I also don't wanna speak to my ex when we just splat up. Give it a time may be a year or so.
Remember: the one that you are currently going out with, you don't like, better tell him now so that he'll stop waisting his time, you'll never gonna love someone that you didn't love from the beginning.
You'll be doing him a great favor, although it might hurt when you telling him, but eventually he is gonna realize that you were doing the right thing.
I agree with the others on here. Maybe just write him a note or letter. Then put it behind you.
It's really hard after being in an abusive relationship to move on. I have had so many relationships after mine that went a similar way
