Im 23, my OH is 40, so 9 years is nothing :-)
There is 9 years between me and my OHs daughter.

Age is just a number, as long as you get on well and have things in common then there shouldnt be a problem.

As has been said - if you worry that there is an issue, maybe it is yourself with the problem against the age gap?

If you're 12 and 21, probably yes. If you're 22 and 31, not bad. If you're 42 and 51 it hardly matters. If you're 72 and 81, what gap? The English are obsessed with age differences - most people in Asia don't much care.
