Onwards and Downwards Continues in September

Hello all,

Onwards and Downwards welcomes any new members serious about losing weight and having some fun along the way.

Well, we didn't really have much of a summer and now autumn is almost upon us. Has anyone found it hard to keep their fingers out of the cookie jar whilst entertaining the little ones?

Please share your high and lows with us and we will support you.

Welcome Sophie I am sure you will get lots of tips from others but my plan is I eat healthily plenty of fish chicken plenty of veg with meals. Don't live on salads at every meal. Always make sure you have breakfast. I keep telling people to have a small glass of unsweetened grapefruit juice in the morning as that works for me. Shop so that you don't run out of ideas...

Stayed the same this week. I'm disappointed with that after what I thought was high effort this week. I'm not sure what I have to do to get moving again? I really wanted to be half a stone lighter by now but September has proved to be a very unproductive month.

What happens when your body decides to "maintain" any ideas anyone?
Down 1⅛ lbs apparently. Well done to you who have not gained, no doubt you're due for a drop next week.
I think you just have to let it work through the pause maidup. The body seems to need reassurance that food is available before it opts to accept a lower weight as the norm. Keep on 'being good' and I'm certain it'll start up dropping again before long. Although do check you are taking in as few calories as you think you are, just to be sure.

Maid up my loss pattern works like that. I can be good and I still stay the same.Then all of a sudden I lose. Maybe you are near your gaol weight which is difficult to lose if you have not got a lot to lose. I at least need a stone off .

Weigh in due tonight but I feel rather pessimistic about my chances of moving off the naughty step. I have tried to change a few things round in order to get things moving in the right direction but somehow I think I will be in the same position as you Maidup. A few of us at SW have agreed to aim for a stone by Christmas but after 2 weeks I have managed a 1 lb gain!!
Point out you thought you'd all agreed a stone between you ;-)
Not me OG because I know I can't do it so quickly. Maidup, OG has said exactly what I was going to say...sometimes the food we're eating isn't as weight loss friendly as we think it is. Carbs calories and fat must be kept down and watch the size of your portions. Just keep on going and you'll start loosing again. There seem to be quite a few of us staying the same this week.
Very happy with myself this morning as I have lost 2lbs. Rice cakes definitely do the trick for me. Just about another 7ls to go and I will be a very happy bunny. Not sure about next week as I will be away for two days and will have to eat what I am given! Congratulations to all who have lost and to all who stayed the same, don't worry, if you stick at it the weight will come off.

Well done OG and spotit. I am back on track this week with a 4lb loss so very happy. For those of you that stayed the same Slimming World recommend that if this keeps happening you change your diet. Try to vary what you are having as it could be you are just eating the same food all the time and your body gets used to it. Not sure if it is true but I do tend to eat the same things all the time and need to change it now and again. Good luck all for next week.

Well done Jan and yes you may well be right. Can I have fish and chips and battered pineapple ring. Pineapple ring part of my 5 a day and fish is good . LOL just joking . I will try and do a few different meals for next week as I have stayed the same last 2 weeks maybe 3.
