Just thought I'd drop in to let you all know the op went well and I was very surprised when the hospital let me go home after two days so was home friday afternoon! Have suffered a bit since with the pain which got worse and by this morning was really struggling as the plaster had started to rub the back of my leg. Thank you Ed for out new monthly thread. I will be trying in moderation. Will have a few treats and then get back to it in earnest after the new year. I aimed for a stone but did not shift it. Have a nice xmas.

It is nice to have a few treats at Christmas, but I agree mderation is a good idea on the whole.

Have a great Christmas yourself :-)
Thanks Ed. Just thinking of Christmas makes my mouth water but as Wendilla says....moderation is the key word here.
Enjoy yourself, Wendilla but don't go mad on the food side of things! Remember 'A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips!' :))
I promised myself that when I had lost 2st I would allow myself a beer or two. Well - tonight's the night! I have lost another 2 lbs, so that's 29 lbs in total. Still a long way to go, but from now until Christmas I shall be concentrating n not putting any weight ON. I'm still only going to have a drink on the nights when I don't have to get up early (so that's Saturday night) and I'm only going to bake on Sundays. If I can stay the same until January 1st - well, what a result that would be!!
Well done LyndaB that's a good attitude to follow.. I have struggled with my last stone but I am trying to be careful and have treats in moderation and if I don't gain over xmas will be a bonus. Keep up the good work.
I'm getting worse, always do when it gets colder weather, on the way home from work at 8 last night I decided to call for fish and chips and a couple of brothers toffee aple cider as OH was at snooker and i didn;t have the energy to cook after a 9 hour shift. It's lazy but the cider was good and the F & C excellent and i fell asleep very quickly watching Castle. I'll do a proper shop tomorrow on my day off and try to buy healthier stuff.....
I have done that too Dotty it it so easy to visit the chippy but as long as you know what to do by doing a weekly shop and planning your meals ahead you will get there. Not easy at this time of year. My secret for weight loss I have a glass of unsweetened grapefruit juice every morning BUT I always stress that some people cannot take it if on certain medications as normally it states on the medication.
I'm stil aiming to lose another few pounds before Christmas and then, like Lynda, I will do my best to maintain that until the festivities are over.

I have more to lose in the new year, but I really hope I've changed my habits and my attitude enough to get back to it reasonably easily.

I'm not a fan of pastry so have no problem resisting mince pies, but its the chesses and biscuits that I find hard to put down! oh and chocloates! But I'll buy plenty of satsumas and grapes and some 19 calorie crispbreads which should lighten the impact of a little bit of cranberry wensleydale. shhh :-)
Just thought I'd drop in to let you all know the op went well and I was very surprised when the hospital let me go home after two days so was home friday afternoon! Have suffered a bit since with the pain which got worse and by this morning was really struggling as the plaster had started to rub the back of my leg. Ended up in A&E this afternoon and had to have a large blister drained, the wounds cleaned, and the temporary plaster replaced so feeling much better now. Will be a while before I will really know if the op was a success and got six weeks of non weight-bearing to get through but the Consultant seemed very happy. Thanks again for all your good wishes and I will keep you updated. Hope to be back on the scales soon. :-)
Hi Jan so glad things are improving now for you and that everything went well. Thanks for letting us know as I am sure everyone was thinking of you. Take care xx
Maidup I too am trying to be good but as I said I will have things in moderation and get back to things in ernest after the new year.
Glad things are going ok Jan.
Good luck for tomorrow everyone :-)
Thanks for your update Jan. It was good that you got that blister sorted out and are now on your way to recobvery. As usual I forgot to click on subscribe so just saw your news now. Thanks for thinking of us.
Good Morning All,

All I want for Christmas is a bit of backbone so I can say NO...a family weekend in another town, a hotel breakfast buffet and a flight cancellation ending up with many hours spent in an airport with their fast food and me with a couple of food cupons from the airlines to use up...granted their were no salads available but still.......

I'm 2 lbs up so it is the naughty step for me which I well an truly deserve and I hang my head in shame.
Xstitcher it's all that lovely food your family cooked for you. I am not joining you as I have stayed the same again. I have been 99% good it's that 1 % from the devil that keeps visiting. You know what to do and I am sure you will rectify it.As I said last week things in moderation over the next few weeks then back to Onwards And Downwards.
Lovely to hear from you Jan and sorry not to have called in before now too. I hope the pain is easing and the non-weight bearing not too problematic. Are you able to get around the house a little?

I'm with you Wendilla and remained the same this week. I've had a couple of slip ups this week and although they weren't outrageously guilty treats they were a bit careless. Like you xstitcher, I found myself in a situation where it was difficult to find a healthy option. You wouldn't mind so much if you'd enjoyed it would you?! Nice meal out or a piece of birthday cake is one thing but fast food or little choice in town is always a disappointing way to go off track. Still, there's another couple of weeks to go before Christmas, I can do better.
Up ⅛ lbs :-(
Nice of you to join me OG but that wasn't much you have put on...
